- Skills and knowledge testing
We put our applicants through one of the most intensive recruitment processes in our industry. Our own senior staff, all highly trained care givers themselves, assess each applicant’s experience, expertise and appreciation for the high standards that we hold dear.
- Competence testing
Every live-in carer or nurse applicant must then complete a four-day placement, shadowed by experienced staff, in order for us to assess their practical skills and knowledge.
- Trust checks
Of course every single applicant wishing to work for us will be referenced, their identities confirmed, and a Disclosure and Barring service (DBS)/police check will be carried out on them in order for us to be confident of their trustworthiness and to give us some insight into their previous experience.
- Aptitude assessment
To offer live-in care to our clients we need applicants to show not only that they have the skills and knowledge to carry out their duties, but also that they have the right personality for the job. Live-in care is all about offering support and comfort, being there when clients need someone to talk to and affording them privacy when they don’t; therefore all of our staff must be kind-hearted and have a genuine desire to help others.
- Internal training
Every new member of our team must pass a registration exam to prove their knowledge and professional aptitude. The majority will also be required to undertake our own, Open College Network accredited, health care training. The length, standard and intensity of this training is far higher than any other home help organisation that we know of, and as a result you can be confident that no matter what situation our live-in care assistants are faced with they will be able to efficiently and calmly deal with it.
- Quality rewarded
Our aim is to be one of the best live-in care agencies in London and the Home Counties, and we know that to be recognised for this we need our excellent staff to always be on top form. Therefore we support them every step of the way, through internal training, through additional qualifications such as an NVQ in Health and Social Care, and through challenging them to be the best they can be.
